First of all, you should read the email because it will contain all the details that you need. Yeah, we know that sounds obvious, but apparently this is not always the case. You will only receive notifications about mandatory courses only. On you Learner Dashboard you can find the section labelled # Your Mandatory Courses which contains all the courses you really really have to complete. Within this section you can also find all the Information Security courses listed that have been assigned to you. This sub section is labelled # Learning Path - Security Awareness. Please make sure to keep an eye on those courses as well.
The main category labelled # Your Mandatory Courses on your Learner Dashboard contains all courses that are mandatory for you. Next to each course name you can see when the course will expire and your completion rate. In addition to that we have introduced three course labels to indicate if a course is related to Compliance or InfoSec and if it is Mandatory. These labels are visible on the course summary page, underneath the course description.
All courses within the # Your Mandatory Courses section on your Learner Dashboard.
All mandatory compliance courses assigned to you (see # Your Mandatory Courses), will expire after 60 days. You will receive reminder emails, as well as Slack notifications to make sure you won't forget to complete the course in question.
Information Security courses (see # Learning Path - Security Awareness) will not expire by default. However, you should complete them within 45 days. Reminder emails as well as Slack notifications will be sent to you as well, just to make sure you complete each individual course.
Mandatory courses have a certain number of tries as this is a regulatory requirement. If learners do not pass the test the third time, then we organize a classroom training session to make sure that the subject has been fully understood and reply to any questions that you might have.
If you encounter a course video that keeps looping or won't load for you at all, we suggest you clear your browser cache & cookies. Not sure how to do this? Check out this link here. Alternatively, you can open the course in a new incognito window.
Nope. These points reflect your learning progress and are not related to any OKRs.
Not yet, but we are looking into this option.
In order to complete a course, you need to make sure to go through all units, including mandatory material, e.g. documents or videos. Check the completion rules at the bottom of a course summary page. You can always find out which part of the content you need to complete.
It is vital to click the complete button underneath each unit or document, so that the system marks it as complete. Unfortunately, there is no way around this, as the GiG Academy is a third party system.
You can always find out which part of the content you need to complete by checking the copletion rules at the bottom of the courses summary page.
Yes, because it is an essential part of your training and our regulatory requirements, and can expose GiG to fines and warnings if they are not completed within the mandatory time frames.
There are two different options available:
